13 January 1900 - Getting Ready for the Census

B. Gootee Stevens, of Caroline, Superintendent of the Census for the Eastern Shore, was in Cambridge a few days ago for the purpose of arranging the Census districts.  We learn there will be sixteen enumerators in Dorchester, Cambridge having probably three, East New Market two, and two or more of the smaller districts to be consolidated into one.  The Census will be taken about May, as it is not to be so complex as that of ten years ago, it can be more speedily taken and will be worth more for statistics when completed.
