Dr. Sayers, East New Market Physician, in Serious Trouble

Dr. A.S. Sayers, a practicing physician of East New Market, was indicted by the grand jury Saturday, charged with performing a criminal operation on Mrs. Lydia Griffith, a young married woman of Secretary.  As soon as the action of the grand jury was known to the state's attorney he had a writ issued for the doctor's arrest and placed it in the hands of the sheriff, who succeeded in making the arrest today.  The sheriff accompanied the doctor to East New Market tonight, where the prisoner hopes to be able to secure the necessary bondsmen.  As a result of the operation Mrs. Griffith came near dying.  Dr. Sayers is well known in this county.  He is said to have a large practice in the upper districts.
