The congregations of the East New Market and Hurlock Baptist Churches joined forces on Tuesday evening and gave their new pastor and wife a hearty welcome into their midst. The reception was not only to welcome them, but was a kitchen shower and a donation of chickens, flour, sugar, and vegetables, and when the guests departed they left a well filled pantry. Mr. and Mrs. Ledbetter came from a parsonage where everything was furnished, so very much appreciated these gifts. Mr. McKnight, of Hurlock, made the address of the evening, and a very pleasant time was spent. Ice cream and cake were served.
