8 October 1925 - B.Y.P.U. Association

On Tuesday evening, October 6th, the B.Y.P.U. Association of Friendship District met with the church as East New Market.  This district is comprised of three counties, Dorchester, Talbot, and Caroline.  At the roll call, delegates from the following churches responded:  Easton, Cordova, Hurlock, Cambridge, Greensboro, and East New Market.

After the meeting was opened by the president of the Association, Mr. John E. Satchell, the Intermediate B.Y.P.U. of Hurlock, gave a splendid program and Easton songsters contributed two musical numbers.  The Revs. R.R. Aleo of Baltimore, J. McLeod of Cambridge, and J.C. Ledbetter of East New Market spoke on the various phases of B.Y.P.U. work.

A bible baseball game with an electric map for a diamond between the teams of E.N. Market and Hurlock created a great deal of interest.

The following officers were elected to serve the coming year:  Rev. Tombes, of Easton, President; Miss Elsie Evans, of Cambridge, Vice-President; Miss Margaret McKnight, of Hurlock, Secretary; Mr. J.E. Satchell, of Easton, Treasurer; Mrs. Melvin G. Morris, of Greensboro, Junior Intermediate Leader; and Mr. Grayson Messick, of Cambridge, Choirster.

Following the adjournment of the meeting, refreshments were served by the ladies of the entertaining Church.  The next meeting of the Association will be held with the church in Cambridge on the first Tuesday in December.
