Mr. and Mrs. Grant U. Stiner and Grant Jr., of Cambridge, spent Wednesday of last week with Mrs. Stiner's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Gambriel.

Miss Marjorie Higgins, of Hurlock, spent Tuesday and Wednesday of last week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T.S. Higgins.

Miss Louise Jones has returned to her home in Baltimore after spending a week with Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Saxton, at Camp Waterloo.

The first oyster supper of the season was held on the lawn of the M.E. Church last Thursday.  A host of good things to eat were appreciated by a large attendance of townspeople and an unusually large crowd of visitors not only from other counties, but other states as well.   A number were turned away because of the lack of food to accommodate them.

Mrs. Olin Higgins and two children, Marjorie and Billy, spent Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. T.S. Higgins.

Miss Ruth Taylor, of Cambridge Hospital, spent Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Taylor.

Messrs. Brice Howard, of Baltimore, and Edwin Vaughn, of Norfolk, have returned after spending the summer with Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Howard.

Miss Margaret Maurice has returned to her home here after being the guest of Miss Margaret Kennerly, of Salisbury for the past week.

Miss Annabel Camper and Mr. W.T. Collins were supper guests on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Saxton.

Mrs. Robert McKnett, of Philadelphia, visited friends in town last week.

Mr and Mrs. L.C. Howard spent Friday in Salisbury.

Mr. Lee Vickers, of Ohio, is visiting relatives in town.

Mrs. Geo. Kennerly and daughter, Miss Margaret Kennerly, of Salisbury, spent the weekend with Mrs. Margaret Maurice.

Misses Elizabeth Bonner and Louise Jones spent the weekend with Capt. and Mrs. W.E. Johnson.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Silcox and children, Billy and Dorothy, of Wilmington, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. George Moore.   Mrs. Silcox and the children are remaining for a visit of two weeks.

Mr. Lawton and Miss Marguerite Jones have returned after spending some time with their parents, Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth B. Jones, of Annapolis Junction.

Miss Evelyn Jefferson spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Ellen Jefferson.

Miss Hilda Kondla and Mr. Franklin Gambriel spent Saturday evening with Mrs. and Mrs. Grant Stiner at their home in Cambridge.

Mrs. Jefferson Creighton is stationed at Bridgeville this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Nichols and son, Edward, of Philadelphia, spent the weekend with Mrs. Nichols parents Mr. and Mrs. D.F. Condon.

Miss Katherine Lewis, of Baltimore, spent the weekend with Miss Mary Gootee.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wheatley and baby, of Laurel, Del., are spending a week with Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Wheatley.

Miss Lucy Wright Parker has returned after spending a week with Mr. and Mrs. Will Wright, at their home in Cambridge.

Mr. and Mrs. Jake Nicholson has as their weekend guests Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jones, of Annapolis Junction, and Miss Emma Agier and Mr. Chas. Dilworth, of Baltimore.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schley, of Cambridge, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Wheatley.

Mr. Ralph Crowe and Mr. Smith, of Baltimore, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Crowe and Mr. Smith took supper with Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Wheatley on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Bove and baby, of Wilmington, spent the Labor Day holiday with Mrs. Bove's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Smith.

Mrs. Mary Neil has returned to Baltimore, after visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jack Smith.

Mr. and Mrs. Dorsey Parker and two children, of Baltimore, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Parker.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Bradley and daughter, Evelyn, of Hurlock, were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Reid on Sunday.

Mrs. W.T. Vane and Mr. Ross Vane, of Rhodesdale, have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hicks.

Mrs. and Mrs. Jack Smith has as their guests over the weekend Mr. John Neil and Miss Peterson, of Baltimore, Mrs. Henry Belmont, of St. Michaels, and Mr. and Mrs. James Smith.

Mrs. John Collins has as her guest her sister, Miss Bertha Seidler, of Washington, D.C.

Mr. Lewis Thomas, of Baltimore, was a visitor at the home of his mother, Mrs. Samuel Thomas on Labor Day.

Mr. Wm. Hicks, who has been sick for the past two weeks is improving.

Mrs. Gerome Hubbard and son, Gerome Jr., of Washington, have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Webster.

Miss Marian Wright, of Wilmington, spent the Labor Day holiday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Wright.

Mrs. Bessie Staton, of Baltimore, spent a few days this week with Mrs. Mary K. Willey.

Mrs. John Patten returned to Philadelphia with her mother, Mrs. Steinman and her sister, who have been spending some time with her.

Misses Rebecca Willey and Helen Windsor left Monday for Salisbury, where they will take up their studies at the New Normal Schoool.

The baseball fans, as well as everybody else, we believe, wish to congratulate Cambridge on winning the pennant this season and we wish them luck in the games with Hagerstown.   A few of out most enthusiastic fans will follow the team to the Western Shore.

Mr. Neavitt Spence is spending some time with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Spence.

Mr. Wm. A. Andrews spent the weekend at his home near town.

Miss Myra Twilley spent Sunday with Miss Rosalie Brinsfield.

Miss Marjorie Lee Willoughby, of Hurlock, spent Labor Day with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Willoughby.

Misses Mildred Higgins and Ruth Blake spent Tuesday in town.

On Monday night, Labor Day, the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan visited East New Market and held an open air meeting on the athletic field of the new High School.   The burning of the Fiery Cross was as ever very impressive, followed by the lecture explaining the clauses and aim of the Klan by the Rev. Mr. Price, of Perryville.

Miss Evelyn Higgins is spending some time at the home of her grandparents, recuperating after her recent illness.

Dr. and Mrs. Willis and son, formerly of Easton, spent Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Spence.

Mr. Wm. Neighbor left Sunday for Baltimore, where he will spend several days.

Prof. and Mrs. Franklin A. Stayer visited town and the High School on Tuesday. Prof. Stayer is to be the new Principal of the High School, while Mrs. Stayer will teach one of the lower grades.

Mr. Alton Hackett, of Philadelphia, spent the Labor Day holiday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hackett.

Mrs. Mary K. Willey had as her guests on Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Milton Willey, of Pocomoke, Mr. Arthur Willey and two children, of Preston, and Mr. Talmadge Goslin, of Federalsburg.

Mrs. Nina Christopher and two children, and Mrs. Fitzgerald and son, of Cambridge, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kimmey.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Meyer have as their guest Mr. Meyer's mother of Baltimore.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Helsby and daughter Helen, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Saxton at Camp Waterloo.

Prof. and Mrs. Leland Meyer left last Friday for Georgetown, Ky., after spending the summer at their camp at Green's Point.

Miss Norma Merrick has accepted the position recently held by Mr. Henry Wheatley as bookkeeper for the Saxton and Parker Hardware Co.

Mr. Bob Gambriel and a friend, of Norristown, spent Labor Day with Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Gambriel.

Mrs. Stella Maple, of New York City, has been visiting Mrs. Chas. Willis.

Miss Ruth Blake spend Labor Day with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Blake.

Mrs. Hamil Smith gave a delightful surprise party in honor of Mr. Smith's birthday.  Delicious ice cream and cake were served.   The guests were: Mrs. James M. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Lake Thomas and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Smith and children, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Helsby and Helen Helsby, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hicks, and Mrs. India LeCompte.

Little Miss Hilda May Bonner spent the weekend with her grandparents, Capt. and Mrs. W.E. Johnson.
