William Henry WolfeWilliam Henry Wolfe (1859-1928)
+ Annie Virginia Wenzel (1866-1937)

William Henry Wolfe was born on September 26, 1859.  William is listed in the 1860 Census with his mother and siblings.  The 1870 Census record listed under George Wolfe, likely includes William H Wolfe.  However, another 1870 Census record in Baltimore is also a strong possibility. In the 19th Ward of Baltimore at the 'Children of the Stricker Street Protestant Orphanage / Asylum', a William Wolf is listed.  This William Wolf is 10 years old and was born in Maryland.  It is also possible that both records are correct or neither record is correct.

During the 1880 Census, William was living with his brother John W Wolfe in Sweet Air, Maryland (see page 5).  William H Wolfe married Annie Virginia Wenzel on November 22, 1888 at Whatcoat Parsonage in Baltimore, Maryland. Annie Wenzel was born on February 23, 1866 in Baltimore County.  She was the daughter of George Wenzel and Catherine Kibler.  The marriage Certificate for William and Annie follows:

I hereby certify, that on this twenty second day of November, one thousand, eight hundred and eighty eight, at Whatcoat Parsonage, William H Wolfe and Annie V Wenzel were by me united in marriage, in accordance with the License issued by the Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas for Baltimore City, in the state of Maryland. William Henry Wolfe (colorized)Death Certificate - William Henry Wolfe, 153 N. Curley St., Baltimore
lived in Baltimore 70 years, white, male, married, wife - Annie V Wolfe
date of birth - 9-26-1858, retired carpenter
name of father - William Wolfe, born in Germany
name of mother - Von Kison?, born Germany
date of death - 11-2-1928 at 6:25am
cause - myocarditis for 3 months, contributory Cledema in Lungs for 2 days
buried in Louden Park on November 5

This is clearly our William Henry Wolfe.  Although, it is not clear who provided the information to fill the death certificate.  The name of his father is incorrect.  Mary Wolfe could not have had her son George in 1854 by a man named John M Wolfe and 5 years later had her son William by a man named William Wolfe.  Maybe the father’s name was John William Wolfe.  Since the fathers name appears to be incorrect, this casts doubt on the mothers name.  Von Kison was not written clearly.  A first name was not entered.
