Joseph Buck Post Office (1875 - ca. 1960s)

(Also known as the Seymour Property, and the Mary Webster House)

Three frame buildings are pictured to the east of Realty Building.  The building believed to be the Joseph Buck Post Office is to the left in the photos above and below.  The building closest to the Realty Building is Pegalow's Shoe Store.  The stucture in the center is possibly and old meat shop.  The postcard photo above was likely taken between 1917 and 1920.  The postcard photo below was taken around 1916.

F. Pegalow's Shoe Store

Joseph Buck built the 2-story structure in 1875.  D'Arcy and Mary Webster purchased the property in 1956.  Mary Webster lived there until 1966.  At some point in the late 1960s or in the 1970s, the structure was torn down.  Choptank Distributing Company bought the property in 1973.  For many years, a distributing company operation was located at this site in a newer cinder block building at the rear of the property.  Royal Lawns purchased the property in 2005 and now runs a landscaping business from this location.
