Nossick, his wife, for natural love & affection:  lot on west side of Main Street; beginning at an iron rod with cap set on the back of walk on the westerly right-of-way line of Main Street, said point of beginning being 27.5' south of the intersection of the westerly right-of-way line of said Main Street and the southerly right-of-way line of Maryland Route 14, thence running in the datum of a plat entitled "Map Showing Manning Property in East New Market" prepared by Lawrence F. Simmons dated July 1916, leaving said iron rod with cap set and running southwardly along the westerly right-of-way line of said Main Street South 15*45" West 82.50' to an iron fence post in concrete found (post cut flush with ground) at the intersection of said right-of-way line and the northerly line of the lands of now or formerly Michael W. Richardson for $950:  Circuit Court, Case No. 5 of the Judicial Docket of the October Term on 14 August 1938.  Judgment entered in the County Trust Company of Maryland versus Thomas H. Collins, on 4 June 1936 in Case No. 29, upon the Appearance Docket of the April term 1936:  Lot with all the buildings and improvements thereon, including a dwelling house, garage, and other buildings, lying on the west side of Main Street.  Fronting upon the said Main Street 82 1/2 feet, being bounded on the north by the parcel of land conveyed unto Lester J. Medford by County Corporation of Maryland, by deed dated 30 December 1936, 35 JFD 175, by Lot No. 2 as described in the advertisement of sale and special return filed in No. 5 Judicials, October Term 1937 of the Circuit Court (being the same land conveyed to Thomas H. Collins by William M. Fletcher, by deed dated 12 April 1909, 35 CL 212), and by Academy Street, and on the south by the land conveyed unto Ethel A. Brannock by Charles H. Blake by deed dated 2 January 1926, 17 JFD 449, and on the west by the waterworks property, and said lot fronting also on the south side of Academy Street for a distance of 37 1/2 feet more or less, between the property above referred to as Lot No. 2 and the said waterworks property, being the same lot that was conveyed to Thomas H. Collins for $150:  lot in the town of East New Market.  Beginning at the east corner of the lot of Mrs. Wright on Academy Street , thence running in an easterly direction with the south side of Academy Street 50 feet, thence 25 feet to the line of Mrs. Wright, thence in a westerly direction with the Wright line 50 feet to the line of the pound, thence near a northerly direction to the place of beginning, the same being a part of the lot adjoining  the store of E. Holland & Co., being a part of the home property of Major S. Fletcher purchased by Sarah C. Fletcher from William M. Fletcher and John W. Fletcher as trustees for Major S. Fletcher.

20 CL 553 - 11 September 1896 - William M. Fletcher and John W. Fletcher, trustees, to Sarah C. Fletcher for $2900.  Trustees under a deed of trust from Major S. Fletcher & Willie K. Fletcher, his wife, dated 28 August 1889 in 13 CL 3.  Whereas by the said deed of trust, the said Major S. Fletcher and Willie K. Fletcher, his wife, conveyed property unto the said William M. Fletcher and John W. Fletcher.  On 3 November 1894 the trustees sold the property described as Lot No 1 to Sarah C. Fletcher for $2900, which was duly reported to, and ratified by the court in No 1536 Chancery.  Lot No 1situated in the town of East New Market improved by a storehouse and dwelling wherein the said Major S. Fletcher formerly resided, which is the same land that was conveyed unto the said Major S. Fletcher by Mary Bramble by deed dated 31 July 1862 in 5 FJH 220 and is described as Lot No 6 in Trustees second report of sales.

13 CL 3 - 28 August 1889 - Major S. Fletcher & Willie K. Fletcher, his wife, to John W. Fletcher and William M. Fletcher:  In trust for the benefit of his creditors property consisting of the premises, household furniture in the dwelling house, now occupied by the grantors, the crops on lot in East New Market, 1 horse, 1 cow, 2 hogs, 1 carriage, 1 wagon, and 1 cart.  8 lots, 2 in ENM, including   (8) Lot No 8 - All that lot in the town of East New Market and improved by a store house and dwelling wherein the said Major S. Fletcher now resides, and being the same lot conveyed to the said Major S. Fletcher by Mary Bramble by deed dated 31 July 1862 in 5 FJH 220.

10 CL 736 - 31 March 1888 - Mortgage - Major S. Fletcher owing to William M. Fletcher and John W. Fletcher:  Whereas William M. Fletcher and John W. Fletcher have endorsed several promissory notes of the said Major S. Fletcher of various amounts aggregating a sum between $5000 and $10000 and where the said Major S. Fletcher wishes to secure the said William M. and John W. Fletcher against any loss that may occur:  Tract on the right hand side of county road leading from the Rail Road Depot  at East New Market to the village of East New Market.  Being the same land which was conveyed unto the said Major S. Fletcher by William Christopher and wife by deed dated 1 January 1864 in 5 FJH 497.  Also by deed from William Christopher dated 1 April 1867 in 7 FJH 32.  Including the dwelling house and appurtenant buildings formerly occupied by the said Major S. Fletcher as a residence and also the new store house at or near the Rail Road Depot, and as well all other buildings.  And also all that lot in the town of East New Market on the west side of the Main Street and on the south side of the street leading to the Episcopal Church, together with the dwelling house, store house, and all appurtenant buildings thereon.  Being the same premises upon which the said Major S. Fletcher now resides. and the same lot of ground conveyed to the said Major S. Fletcher by Mary A. Bramble by deed dated 31 July 1862 in 5 FJH 220.  Also those two lots of ground in the town of East New Market near the Methodist Church and adjoining the lot of William R. Hooper and the farm belonging to Thomas J. Hicks, deceased.  Said lots being improved by two dwelling houses and other outbuildings and the same property formerly belonging to James Davis.

8 CL 620 - 15 July 1886 - Mortgage - Major S. Fletcher & Willie K. Fletcher, his wife, owing to Emma A. Prettyman forr $900:  All that house and lot whereon the said Major S. Fletcher & wife now reside situated in the town of East New Market, and on the west corner of Main Street and R.R. Avenue of said town and adjoining the lands of Wm. R. Sherman on the south and Eugenia Thomas on the west, together with the improvements thereon and known as the M.S. Fletcher property.  Provided that if the said Major S. Fletcher & Willie K. Fletcher, his wife, shall pay unto the said Emma A. Prettyman the sum of Nine hundred dollars with interest thereon, on or before 9 July 1887.

[After Major S. Fletcher purchased the lot from Mary King Bramble, he sold two parts of it.  The southernmost part was triangular in shape and sold the Anthony L. Manning.  This triangle was added to a triangle that Manning already owned to form a rectangle as shown on the 1877 map.  The middle part of this lot was sold to Thomas B. Sherman in 1871 and is shown on the 1877 map.  Fletcher retained the northernmost part.  Records detailing the part retained continue above.]

20 HD 398 - 25 October 1802 - Commission Certificate to Joseph Ennalls, John Stevens, Joseph Whiteley, Edward Whiteley and William Ennalls, gentlemen. Henry King petitions the court that a certain John Anderton Mitchell died intestate and seized of lands in Dorchester County.  Your petitioner and a certain Mary King, sister of your petitioner, of full age, and a certain Mary King the only child and daughter of a certain Edward King, who was a brother of your petitioner and is now dead, are entitled to the said lands by inheritance as heirs at law and representatives of the said John Anderton Mitchell, deceased.  The Mary King, last aforesaid, is a minor.  Your petitioner therefore prayed that the said court will appoint a commission to divide the lands. Notice was given to Betsy King who the court appointed as guardian of the said Mary King, who is a minor under the age of 21 years.  The Commission estimated the value of the land at 3618 pounds and divided it.  for Mary King, daughter of Edward King, deceased, land valued at 1206 pounds (1st part) Beginning for the 1st lot at a cedar post as No. IV, standing E 2 1/4 perches distance from the original bounder of "Anderton's Desire" and at P on the plot and from thence runs E 19 1/4 perches to the main road that leads from Cabin Creek to Cambridge, then, N 15 E 12 perches to the main road that leads from Crotchers Ferry to Henry Dickinson's farm, then N 75 W 19 perches to another cedar pot as No. III at P on the plot and then with a straight line to the place of beginning. Containing 1 1/2 acres and 17 square perches.

[The land below became the property of John Anderton Mitchell.  After the death of John Anderton Mitchell, the land was divided into several tracts and distributed among his 3 heirs, including Mary King, daughter of Edward King, infant under the age of 21.  The part above was about 2 acres on the east side of the southernmost part of the land.]

25 Old 9 - 13 June 1771 - Francis Anderton, planter, to John Anderton, merchant, for 10 pounds and for a tract called "Sandwich" in the forks of Cabin Creek's branches:  (3) part of a tract called "Buckland" and part of a tract called "Debate Enlarged", being the land granted by a certain John Rix to the aforesaid John Anderton, deceased. Beginning at the end of 6p in an E course drawn from a marked live oak standing in the edge of a swamp in the fork of Secretary's Creek, being the beginning tree of said John Anderton, deceased, his part of a tract called "Bath", then runs still E 32p, then N 172 1/2p, then E 3p, then N to the branch, then binding with the branch until it intersects a N course from the beginning. Containing 50 acres. John Anderton, deceased, is the father of said Francis Anderton.

E LG 601 - 29 September 1744 - John Rix - By virtue of a warrant to resurvey granted to John Rix bearing day 20 May 1742 to resurvey 2 tracts, on called "Buckland", originally granted on10 September 1688 unto Thomas Battifore for 150 acres, the other called "Debate Enlarged", originally on 15 October 1732 granted unto John Rix for 50 acres.   Both under new routs.  (1) "Buckland Regulated"  Beginning at a marked oak standing on the S side of a marshy branch that makes out of the head of Secretary Creek,  then SE 40p, to a marked oak, SSW 80p, then SWxW 70p, then NNE 86p, then WxS 25p, which said line crosses an older tract called "Westward, originally on 30 August 1688 and name into another older tract called "Bath", originally on 14 August 1675, then NxW 60p to the said branch and from thence running up the said branch to the first.  Containing 150 acres.  (2) "Debate Enlarged"  Beginning at a marked white oak standing by the edge of a swamp, then runs N20E 23p, then N 210p, then S75W 177p, then S 20p, then S70W 25p, then S 198 p, then by a straight line to the first beginning.  Containing 50 acres.  (3) "Westward" Beginning at a marked oak, runs E 71p to another marked oak, from thence N 264p, then W 71p, then S to the first beginning.  Containing 100 acres.  (4) "Bath" Beginning at a marked oak and runs E 410p up Secretarys Creek bounded therewith S 580p, then NW 580p, then by a straight line to the place of beginning.  Containing 1010 acres.  After resurvey have added 105 acres of vacant land and reduced the whole into a tract called "Buckland Regulation"  Beginning at the first original bounder of "Buckland" on the S side of the fork branch that makes out of the head of Secretarys Creek, then runs S 49E 53p, to the 2nd bounder of "Buckland", then S18W 92p, then S44E 70p, then S50W 76p, then N17W 96p, then SWxW 40p, SW 57p, then S50E 90p, then S54W 112p, then N 304p, then W 71p, then S 264p, then S20W 23p to the first boundary of "Debate Enlarged", then S87W 30p, then N 376p to fork branch, the ESE 53p binding with the said branch, then S5E 20p, binding with said branch, then S69E 100p, then with a straight line to beginning.  Containing 305 acres.
